Our baby boy Henry was born on Saturday, August 4th, at 11:08 pm at St. Luke’s Roosevelt hospital. He weighed in at 9lbs. 9oz, and 22 inches long. Vaginal birth, with epidural; thanks to our great doctor we were able to avoid a C-section. Edna was great the entire time we were in touch with her, from the first visits, to us laboring at our apartment Saturday the 4th, and as we went to hospital that night. She was lovely and caring, and with my husband Ben helped create a safe and intimate environment for me to labor in. Thank you to Edna for this great support!”

“We would highly recommend Edna as a doula. Edna was always early - to our meeting, while on call, and for the post-birth meeting - an excellent characteristic for anyone, especially a doula. She always checked in with us during the pre-pregnancy appointments as well. During delivery, we found her to be compassionate and deeply knowledgeable about the birth process - at each stage providing explanations about what was going on and why, which really helped support and give comfort to Mom (and Dad). She was very positive and very energetic about the process. Edna is a very nice person and we were fortunate to have her present at the birth of our daughter.”

I have been meaning to write this review for a while. Edna Sperduto from NYC Birth Village was my doula and I cannot recommend her enough. As a single mother by choice, Edna was with me every step of the way. She made me feel safe, calm, and secure leading up to, during and after the birth of my precious daughter. She is so knowledgeable and has the perfect mix of being soft and strong. I feel so blessed to have had her by my side when my daughter was born. If we could each have someone like Edna by our side to help us through life transitions, this would be a better world.

"We hired Edna to encapsulate my placenta after our son, Henry, was born. Edna was a remarkable resource – traveling to the hospital as soon as I gave birth and then dropping off the placenta and the tincture to our house the following day! She was so compassionate and knowledgeable; she even provided us with lactation counseling and swaddling support when she dropped off the placenta, which was more than generous! The placenta package was beautiful, we really enjoyed the nice touch of the umbilical cord keepsake and the placenta print which were wonderful additions to our baby book. I will definitely hire Edna again for baby #2!"
